At Malthouse Barn Stud we look after a maximum of  26 horses and have 45 acres of grazing.

All the horses are cared for on a Part or Full Livery basis by very qualified and caring staff.

Hilary Miles  has always been horse mad and spent her whole working life in the equine industry. Having run a busy London riding school for 4 years, she then worked as an equine nurse in a top equine veterinary hospital for 5 years before turning her skills to training horses on film sets and stunt riding. In 2003 Hilary followed a life long dream and started to train as a ‘Horse Whisperer’. After 3 years studying and training she passed her ’Monty Roberts Preliminary Certificate Of Horsemanship’. Now alongside the livery yard Hilary helps horses and their owners in the local area to work through problems together and build a stronger relationship.

Hilary employs 3 full time members of staff.

Fiona King is the yard manager. She looks after the day to day running of the livery yard and manages the other members of staff. Fiona has a Bsc(Hons) degree in Equine Science which she obtained at Hartpury College. She keeps her own horse ‘Paddy’ at the yard.

Becci Sherwood  is assistant manager. Becci has a 2:1 Bsc(Hons) degree in Equine Sports Performance which she obtained at Plumpton College. She has a horse on loan called ‘Pru’ and has recently bought ‘Flossie’ a youngster to work on. Becci also lives on site and assists Hilary with the 24 hour care.

Abi Sharp is the new comer to the team. She joined us in February 2008 . Abi has had previous experience in riding schools and livery yards and is a valuable member of the team. Abi and ‘Basil’ have been learning a lot from each other recently (pictured right).
